As part of a 10 - long program , the Norwegian government has been employ architects and designer to create beautiful wayside lookouts , bathrooms , and other amenities for travelers along 18 scenic highways throughout the rural area . One of the latest of the projection unveiled , spot byDezeen , is a glitzy public convenience located on the Arctic island of Andøya in northern Norway .
The readiness , designed by the Oslo - basedMorfeus Arkitekter , is located near a rock formation called Bukkekjerka , once used as a sacrificial site by the autochthonal Sami people . The angular concrete and sword structure isdesignedto fit in with the scraggy mountains that surround it .
The mirrored exterior paries of the bathroom serve a dual design . On the one bridge player , it reflect the scene around the construction , helping it combine into the landscape . But it also has a concealed feature . It ’s a one - elbow room mirror , allow those inside the restroom to have a private view out over the sea or back into the mount while they micturate .

The freshly landscaped eternal rest domain near the bathroom will serve as an event space in the future . The Bukkekjerka site is already home to an annual opened - air church service , and with the new construction , the space will also be used for wedding and other events .
