Jimmie Allen’s former manager is speaking out for the first time sincedropping the sexual assault lawsuitshe filed against him.
Several days after thecountrymusic star and his former manager, 38, agreed to move past litigation on Thursday, her lawyers at FeganScott confirmed to PEOPLE that she filed a revised stipulation agreement to finalize the decision to dropher claimson Monday.
Elizabeth Fegan, the attorney for the plaintiff (named as Jane Doe), also shared a statement about the decision with PEOPLE. She said, “Jane Doe entered into a settlement agreement with Jimmie Allen to avoid the trauma of reliving her abuse over the course of a painful trial.”
The attorney explained that Allen offered to pay a financial settlement in exchange for not bringing the case to trial, which FeganScott “agreed to in order to save my client from the emotional trauma of reliving her experience.”

“The lawsuit against Allen was never about financial gain for my client, but instead holding Allen accountable,” Fegan continued. “Unfortunately, civil litigation has few ways to punish wrongdoers; we could not ask the court to jail him, for example, or force him to change his behavior. One of the few remedies we do have in civil litigation is to ask the court to punish through monetary damages, which we did.”
“While Allen and my client reached an agreement prior to trial, the motivations remained true — to hold Allen accountable, which we succeeded in doing,” she added.

Allen also provided PEOPLE with a statement on Monday about the case being dropped. “Because of these false allegations, the past eight months have been the hardest of my life, but it has shown me how much love I have from my friends and family,” wrote the singer-songwriter.
“[Jane Doe’s] non-[factual] story has story has affected the lives of my children and I’m not down with that,” Allen, who sharesthree childrenwith his wifeAlexis Gale, said. “I can take all the jabs, but when they start affecting my children we have serious issues.”

Jane Doe accused the Grammy-nominated artist of raping her during a March 2021 work trip to film an episode ofAmerican Idoland assaulting her on another instance as they traveled together when he appeared on an episode ofTheEllen DeGeneresShow.
The suit claimed that this behavior happened under the eye of Allen’s management team, whom the plaintiff claimed was aware of the CMA award winner’s behavior, but put her under his direction anyway.
At the time of the initial filing and since, Allen has denied the accusations and claimed that their relationship was consensual.
The additional lawsuit brought forth against the “Best Shot” singer was filed in June 2023 and alleges that he filmed their sexual encounter without her consent.
Fegan also told PEOPLE in a statement at the time that she had heard from additional women accusing Allen of assault.
