With this successful test behind it , the 77 - long ton rocket booster for NASA ’s Space Launch System is now halfway to being clear for flight . The second test isscheduled to take place about a year from now , in 2016 . Once it passes that 2nd vault , NASA will be in self-control of a full - operational bent of Eruca sativa boosters capable of take us not just on their schedule trip to Mars , but perhaps beyond .
Even with those working Eruca sativa boosters , however , the enquiry of when and how the entire Space Launch System will in the end be capable to get us off this dusty minuscule planetary sway we call habitation remain to be answered .
