If you ’re into the app game even a fiddling bit , you probably have something for fancying up the photo you take with your sound . There ’s a riches of option . But Halftone does something a bit dissimilar — it dresses your pic up as astonishingly faithful reproductions of comic strips of yore .
What is it?
Halftone , $ 1 , iPhone . It ’s point is straightfoward : make your photos bet like comics . you could import one from your photo roll or snatch up one in the app . From there , you may control the case of paper — all a routine brave and crumpled , natch — the size of the ink dot , and the caption composition , typeface , and text . It ends up bet quite nice .
Who’s it good for?
mass who long for the twenty-four hour period when they were n’t reading the latest wanderer - man on their iPad ; fans of smartphone photo essence ; superheroes in disguise .
Why’s it better than alternatives?
It does what it sets out to do quite well . Both the newsprint issue and the power to edit out the text of the panel ’s captions are alone and well - executed .
How could it be even better?
It ’s pretty upstanding as is . It ’d be coolheaded if you could stitch multiple panels together to create a one Thomas Nelson Page comic airstrip — that’d be somewhat awesome on the iPad — and having some more control over the appearance of the legend would be nice . Maybe some positionable bubbles for sound effect ? POW .
