It’s no surprise that Curry, 30, did not say hello to PresidentDonald Trump, 72, at the White House, as in the past he’s been vocal about not supporting the current commander-in-chief. In September 2017, the father of three said thathe would not attenda meeting with the president — as is tradition — after the Warriors won the NBA Finals that year.
“We’re all trying to do what we can using our platforms, using our opportunities to shed light,” he said. “That’s kind of where I stand on that. I don’t think us going to the White House will miraculously make everything better, but this is my opportunity to voice that.”
Though it remained unclear whether the White House had actually extended an invitation to the Warriors in the first place, Trump tweeted that the invite was off the table.
Instead of visiting the White House, team members took local schoolchildren to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in March 2018, theWashington Postreported.
Later last year, the Warriors bested the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 NBA Finals.Trump again declared that the team wouldn’t be invited for a visit.

Curry and Obama, 57, on the other hand, go way back. The Warriors visited the then-president back in February 2016 to celebrate their 2015 championship win. And a few months later, in April 2016, the two sat down for a round of the classic game Connect Four to promote Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative — which helps disadvantaged youth, particularly boys and young men of color.

During the visit, Obama also assisted Curry with his resume — he advised the NBA star to remove the basketball clip art — showed him how to activate a papier-mâché volcano and even helped Curry perfect his jump shot.
