France ’s antimonopoly guard dog is not an Apple fan . Today , it fined the Cupertino hulk 1.1 billion euros ( $ 1.2 billion ) , along with two sweeping partners , for violations regarding its exploit to curb the wholesale mart and abusing the economical dependence of resellers .
In astatementannouncing the amercement , the Autorité de la Concurrence say that Apple and its wholesale partners , Ingram Micro and Tech Data , agreed they would n’t contend with each other . It also prevented premium resellers from lowering prices . In other words , Apple ’s being fined for ply a price - fixing outline . For their part , Ingram Micro and Tech Data were ticket 76 million euros ( $ 85 million ) and 63 million euro ( $ 70.2 million ) , severally .
