Today ’s input of the daylight occur directly from a fowl ’s regretful nightmare . In response to today’spost on the nesting habits of brood leech , the cuckoo finch , commenterAloiciousshares this even sour story on the substance abuse of another brood sponger , the Cowbird :

When a Cowbird parasitizes a nest , it ’ll pierce one egg and taste the table of contents to reckon out at what stage the nut is at . If it ’s a young ballock ( ensure the Cowbird chick will concoct at the same time or before the other chicks ) , the Cowbird will rest an egg in the nest . If the egg is old ( the Cowbird egg would likely not think of ) , the Cowbird will destroy as many egg as possible in that nest , hoping to storm the host to renest . The hypothesis is that by doing this , the Cowbird will squeeze more nests to be the correct age for parasitism .

Very cool .
Cowbirds : Just one more understanding why ornithophobia is the most sane of all phobias .
