Every week , it seems , a new bag company is out to court the crowded earth of products for camera - wielding creative case . Brenthavenhas been do laptop computer bags and luggage since the 1980s , but the name might not be super familiar in the region of photographic camera paraphernalia . We give its BX2 packsack two hebdomad to show how well it can cart some gear .
What Is It?
A average - sized rucksack for a DSLR camera , lenses , accessory , and a 15 - inch laptop .
Who’s It For?
Anyone looking for a television camera back pack that looks sound without seek too severely .
Design
The BX2 take care terrific . No trashy colors , no giant logos . Medium - gray , clear lines , and a comfy overall form . The compartment are large , unencumbered , and trenchant .
Using It
You recognize — zippers , pocket . It ’s a packsack . It ’s mysterious enough for a pro DSLR body and a few lens . Access your television camera body either on top , or through the side with the travelling bag still on your back . you could strap a small tripod to the side or wrap the bagful in an included rain cover , which is surprisingly easy to apply .
The Best Part
The simplicity . bag are often tangle of strap , pockets , buckle , and slide fastener . The BX2 has a pare down - down design you never have to guess about how to expend .
Tragic Flaw
The reposition compartment . The sections lose their shape . The jumbo compartment that houses your camera physical structure leaves empty infinite on all side , even with a large photographic camera like the Canon 1DX . Reconfiguring the Velcro section could never make things snug . You give the handbag to find the camera and lenses in awkward positions .
This Is Weird…
The BX2 feature a tethered light-emitting diode Christ Within for “ low swooning conditions . ” Thanks ?
Test Notes
Some of the zip are n’t so politic . You sometimes need a 2nd hand on the bag for some resistivity to aid the zip .
It has a decent amount of storage for non - camera gear , include a well - placed laptop compartment .
The grinding - resistant control surface has a really soft , invite , haptic feel that trump the stiff ballistic nylon often used on camera bags .

Brenthaven makes much ado about the ruggedness of their bags , with scratch and water resistive exteriors , and “ Xtreme Protection ” foam . We did n’t belt - sand the BX2 or toss it off a cliffs , but it seems as tough as advertised .
A major contributing factor to the problems with the main camera compartment is that the Velcro is placed on small strips , which severely trammel your ability to remold and custom-make the layout to agree your particular setup .
For side memory access , the opening is on the right side of the bag . This suits a rightfulness - hander , only .

The bottom of the bag is durable , but not rigid enough . It tips over on 2-dimensional surfaces .
The BX2 could well stow a Canon 7D with an attached lens , 2 additional lenses , a pocket-sized hard drive , RODE picture mic , and accessories . In the top compartment , we had some Sennheiser headphones and a Zoom H4N sound recorder .
Should You Buy It?
The BX2 is sure as shooting fashionable and comfortable , but it just does n’t seem like your gear is being securely stowed . throw out for a bag that fits your camera just right .
