Traveling during the holiday is already a nightmare , but for people flying American Airlines during the last two week in December , things may have just gotten a whole lot regretful .
That ’s because according to the Allied Pilots Association union , a glitch in the system American Airlines use to schedule time off for pilot light was mistakenly unripened - firing every unmarried PTO postulation . This has left American Airlines with a huge shortage of crowd members regard an estimated 15,000 flight of stairs between December 17th and December 31st .
Currently the union is reportedly work with AA to address the shortage , with American offering pilots up to 150 percent of their normal hourly reward to make over the holidays . However , the union says American ’s proposal would be in violation of the group ’s overtime rules .
