You dressed up for Halloween . You shoot it . And we all get to watch . Here are the results from this week ’s Halloween ( and , sure , Dia de Los Muertos)Shooting Challenge .
Winner: Monster on Main Street
I put out the word on Facebook that I was looking for an awe-inspiring costume to photograph . This young man ’s niece nominated him . We nonplus together on Sunday evening ( to avoid getting killed shooting in the middle of Main Street)and created some fun images . Enjoy this one . It was make just after sunset with my trusty Canon EOS 5D with a Canon 28 - 135 mm f. 3.5 – f.
5.6 IS rapid climb at 30 mm . Exposure was 1/10 sec . at f. 3.5 , ISO 200 . Exposure bias , -2 step . Off - camera flash triggered by Pocket Wizard radio control . Needless to say , we create a little stir downtown .

This snapshot is of Aztec ritual dancer during the Dia de los Muertos fete at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery ( super playfulness ! ) . It was bring hand-held with a Fujifilm X - T1 and 35 mm 1.4 lens .

I was out visit my BF ’s parents in NC ( we live in VA ) , they have this epic Halloween party every class and it was my first time going . I am a photographer of sort so I naturally make for my equipment . Before anyone got there for the Halloween , my bf ’s dad was out fixing some of the decorations outside . I saw the opportunity for a Photo Op and get some very eery but tiptop cool results ! NIKON D3200 , photograph 800 , Lens 18 - 55 , 20 mm , F3.8 , 1/2.5 . Editing Done on iPad 4 using Snapseed

This is the 2nd class that I have built costumes for my son . He is 6 years former and loves the role Master Chief . He is a lilliputian to young to play the game but has seen the character on the xbox and desire this to be his costume . I also make love the persona and believe it would make a great costume . 60 or so hours afterward I had the costume ready for Halloween . He roll in the hay it . I determine up a makeshift studio apartment in my living elbow room to get some good photos of the male child . I apply a canon 1d mark iv with a 70 -200 2.8 . 3 twinkle were used for this shot . the independent Inner Light was above him and angled down at 45 . The other 2 are behind him and to the sides to give a nice rim light on either side of him . They were controlled with radiocommunication initiation . Exposure adjustments were made in Lightroom 5 and sharpening was done in Photoshop CC . More photograph of the ruined costume can be seenat my flickr page .

Even batman gets otiose and rides the moving stairway from time to prison term . This was taken with a Nikon D610 and a 50 mm 1.4 guanine Shot at 1.8 and around 60th of a 2d I had sentence to break down this just as I was coming down the other manner .

Our neighbor hold up all out for Halloween every yr , and this was one of his best effort . I really like this dead reckoning because it ’s an amazing costume and he ’s full committed to the quality , but the fact that it ’s just him plain thread through the neighborhood is what do it nightmare fuel .
Nothing ruins a spooky mood more than on - camera flash , so I shoot this at f1.4 , which also help me separate that face from the prow and backgrounds . Canon 7D , 24 mm f1.4L II , 1/25 sec , 1250 ISO , edit in Lightroom 4

Dia De Los Muertos
I ’ve been living in Los Angeles for th epast 15 age now and it was my first fourth dimension at the Hollywood Forever “ Dia De Los Muertos ” . I had the good sentence there . I knew about the result before , and if I only knew a little more about the “ Dia De Los Muertos ” culture I would have see since the first version 15 years ago . It is a very nerveless fete with house , euphony , food and lot of color everywhere . The two on the photo were participating on a “ quinceañera of the dead ” , and they had the fanfare with duet dancing , her parents walk and opening a parade and they end up blessed by an honest-to-god Indian Mexican . I completely advocate if you have a alteration to attend the “ Dia De Los Muertos ” next twelvemonth .
